2008 New Year’s Resolutions

OK – I didn’t do so hot on my new year’s resolutions last year – other than the ones about Katie and Amelia all I did was keep writing the blog.  Plus, helping Amelia walk wasn’t something I really achieved, she just eventually did it on her own.  I said I’d take Becky on a cruise and that will happen this year (it’s already booked).  Here’s what I’m going to try for in 2008:
 
1) Health – I want to do four things in this area – 1) drink water or milk with lunch instead of pop, b) do my chiropractor prescribed back exercises at least 5 times per week, c) go to the doctor this year and d) work out on days I work from home.  When I work from home I don’t take more than 10 steps at a time, so I need to get off my duff and hit the exercise bikes those days.
2) Amelia – I need to work with her on her speaking – she’s just about 2 and not really saying much.  We’ll have to look into speech therapy or whatever the doctor recommends.  I don’t think it’s a huge deal, but I don’t want inaction now to slow her development later.
3) Time Management – try to keep more consistent hours at night – now I go to bed anytime between 10 and 1, and there’s no real pattern.  I’m not usually tired by 10, so trying to go to sleep between 10:30 and 11:30 most nights should be reasonable.  Part 2 – try to control meetings I’m involved in – try to push for them to be during work or after 7 at least. 
4) Land/Business – I need to do something on this front this year – I’ve been talking about it way too long without any results.
5) Communicate better – try to stay in touch with more people and just be better about emailing and calling friends and relatives
6) Keep writing the blog
 
I thought of a bunch more little things – it’s good to take this time to re-evaluate what you could do better.
