On Thursday night, I knew we had an event at church to kick off Sunday School for those 3 year olds starting this Sunday. I figured it was informational meeting about how Sunday School was going to work, so when Becky asked if we should bring the camera, I practially laughed at her. She insisted we bring it, so I said sure, and we headed off to get there a couple minutes early.
When we got there we found a hallway full of 3 year olds dressed up in white cap and gowns. Apparently the event was called a "cradle roll" and it’s some kind of graduation into Sunday School. So Katie lined up with the rest of her kids and made their way into the hall in the church basement for her induction into Sunday School. She marched into the hall to take her seat up front where she watched the little program of a couple songs, a little speech and then the process of handing out bibles to each kid. She grabbed hers (pictures to come) and made her way back to us. The bible they gave us was pretty cool for a 3 year old – it has lots of pictures and it simplifies the stories so it’s something they can understand.
Katie had her first day of Sunday School today then and she enjoyed it. Her best friends Mya and Jalynn were there so she was super excited to see them. They sang songs for the first 20 minutes and then moved on to the class itself. After Sunday School, Mya begged to come over to our house, so we had Brandi and her kids over for some fun. Katie had a great time and Mya and Jalynn did too. We promised they could stay over at our house sometime in the future.
With all these schools (day care school, Sunday school and junior preschool), Katie is thoroughly confused where she’s going each day, but she’s enjoying it all.
