Music

I love to play music – I guess that’s what happens to you when your mom is a music teacher. I started singing at a really young age and then tried a lot of different instruments – piano, then viola (not for long), then trombone, then back to piano until I learned how to play guitar in college. I fell in love with the guitar and all the sounds you can make from it and I still play a lot today – it’s actually a great source of stress relief for me.

In 2020 after the lockdown, I decided it would be fun to record a video performing a cover song. I started with James Taylor’s Fire and Rain. I posted it on Facebook and people seemed to like it, so I posted a new video the next day. I kept going for 100 straight days of posting videos on Facebook and YouTube. I took a little break after that marathon and recorded a few more songs in the fall and then recorded 21 Christmas songs to finish up the year. All told I recorded 155 videos that year.

I started writing songs in college and I’ve written about 80 songs these days – nearly all from my college days. I ended up recording three albums over the years – one in a professional studio and two on my own. Here are a few of my favorite songs that I’ve written.
