Merry Christmas and we wish you the best in 2015. We hope the holiday season allows you chance to connect with the ones you love. We had an eventful 2014 – it’s been so busy, it’s hard to tell where all the time went. We took a family trip to the big island of HawaiiContinue reading “Merry Christmas – 2014 Year in Review”

Christmas 2011
I can’t believe it’s been a year since I last posted – to save on trees, we decided to post our Christmas letter online The Newell family would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2012. We had a great 2011 as our kids continued to grow and learn. They movedContinue reading “Christmas 2011”
Water Park Break
Last weekend the girls had Thursday and Friday off due to MEA, so we decided we’d take a mini-vacation. We found a good deal at Arrowwood Resort, and it’s only a little over an hour away. We had stayed there with friends last year, and the girls really enjoyed the water park. This time around,Continue reading “Water Park Break”
Baby Kya
We are very slow, but happy to say that Kya Merriam Newell joined the family back on September 17, 2010. Kya is my brother Marc and his wife Kari’s third child, and first girl. Parker and Sawyer are excited to be joined by a little sister, and Kari’s mom was so excited, she actually screamedContinue reading “Baby Kya”
Twins Baseball Game #3 of 2010
Becky and I have a friend who works for the Twins. She pretty much gets to live my dream every day and show up to the ballpark for work. She has been working there for a couple years now – it’s interesting to see how she’s gone from not knowing anything about baseball to beingContinue reading “Twins Baseball Game #3 of 2010”
Blog transition
Testing out my new WordPress blog. Apparently everything migrated from Windows Live Spaces to WordPress. I have been working with a couple WordPress blogs for the community of Barnesville, so I’ve gotten to be somewhat familiar with the application – it’s very easy to use and there are lots of features, so this is aContinue reading “Blog transition”
Potato Days 2010 – Stoneridge Road
Last year, I volunteered to work at our church’s barbeque stand at the Potato Days Food Court on Friday night. While I was there, I could hear a guy playing music from the main stage. I went out to look and no one was really watching him. He was playing guitar and singing but mostContinue reading “Potato Days 2010 – Stoneridge Road”
Becky’s Impressions of Italy
The people of Italy are wonderful. Everyone we met speaks several languages. Our tour guides easily moved between Italian, French, Spanish and English. Even the hotel janitors, restaurant waiters, and bus ticket salespeople know multiple languages. They don’t seem upset when you don’t speak Italian, they happily switch to English for us. If I compareContinue reading “Becky’s Impressions of Italy”
Italy Day 9 – Going Home
Not much for a story today – we lolly-gagged at breakfast long enough we had to sprint to get on our 7:52 train. I actually didn’t stop sweating until a couple hours later. From the train we got to to the airport and had to hop on a bus to get to our terminal. WeContinue reading “Italy Day 9 – Going Home”
Italy Day 8 – Rome
We had talked for a bit about making a trek to Cinque Terre on this day. It’s a set of 5 beautiful coastal towns in the Italian Riviera. The problem is that it’s a 4 hour train ride to get there, and we’d have to get back that night to catch our flight the nextContinue reading “Italy Day 8 – Rome”
