Christmas 2011

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I last posted – to save on trees, we decided to post our Christmas letter online

The Newell family would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2012.  We had a great 2011 as our kids continued to grow and learn. They moved on to 2nd grade (Katie) and kindergarten (Amelia) this September and they are enjoying school a lot.

Katie is turning into a teenager in a 7-year-old body.  Her favorite activity is tubing on the lake now and since we bought a lake place and boat this July, she’s gotten to do a lot more of it.  Other than that she’s hanging out with friends, playing Xbox and board games (Monopoly is her current favorite), and reading.  She’s very active with baseball, basketball and piano lessons which she just started this fall.

Amelia is a growing – at age 5 she’s getting old enough to participate in her own activities now-she loves dance and T-ball and can start with basketball this winter. She’s done a great job learning at school – it’s amazing to see how much she can read already. She loves to swim and to play outdoors too.  She also has been learning board games and has an affinity for whist.

Becky and I have been keeping very busy -both working at Microsoft and keeping up with the kids.   We coach T-ball and basketball with the girls and enjoy that.  We’ve loved our time at our lake place enjoying it with friends and can’t wait to get back there next summer. Becky continues to look forward to her monthly book club outings with her friends.  This summer we were able to take a family vacation to Myrtle Beach and we really enjoyed that chance to get away and see the ocean.

We hope you had a great 2011 and wish you the best in the year to come.  If you’re ever in the area and want to head to the lake this summer, give us a call.

Eric, Becky, Katie and Amelia Newell
