Last weekend the girls had Thursday and Friday off due to MEA, so we decided we’d take a mini-vacation. We found a good deal at Arrowwood Resort, and it’s only a little over an hour away. We had stayed there with friends last year, and the girls really enjoyed the water park.
This time around, they had some fun fall events there – they used their winter activities lodge as a place where kids could decorate cookies, pumpkins or even t-shirts. The girls really enjoyed getting to work on some projects and created some pretty silly pumpkins. It was all included with the hotel stay, so that was a nice perk.
The girls loved the water park – we went before supper on Thursday and again right away in the morning on Friday. Katie was constantly up and down the stairs to the water slides and Amelia has gotten much more comfortable in the water now. She gets her life jacket on and once she gets over the fear that she can’t swim, she floats around and has lots of fun. I still can’t get her to go down a slide by herself though. She wouldn’t go down the big slides with me even though they have an intertube slide that we could ride together.
The girls were so tired out on Thursday night they went to bed about 7:30 (Becky too). We did a little shopping in town and then caught the Burger King play place on the way out – so they got to get a little more energy out.
