Halloween 2010

It seems like every year, Halloween gets more and more involved.  All of these pumpkin patches have sprung up around the area, so the build-up to Halloween now includes:

  • Buying Halloween Costumes (we usually go to one of the custom stores, but we actually found Wal-Mart to be cheaper and they still had a decent selection)
  • Decorating the house
  • Putting out the Halloween lights
  • Getting candy
  • Going to a Pumpkin Patch or two
  • Attending kids parties
  • Attending adult parties
  • Trick or treating
  • Hiding the candy so my daughters don’t gain 20 pounds

It’s all fun, so I’m not complaining.  In fact, Halloween is probably the most fun holiday, because it’s about being silly.  We had a great time at the pumpkin patch with the Uggeruds, and a great time at the kids party and adult party we had.  The trick-or-treating went pretty well, but Amelia had trouble keeping her hat on in the wind, so she only did the first leg of the journey – walking around our neighborhood.  We didn’t have too many people come by again – we’ll have to hand out MP3 players or something next year.
