Twins Baseball Game #3 of 2010

Becky and I have a friend who works for the Twins.  She pretty much gets to live my dream every day and show up to the ballpark for work.  She has been working there for a couple years now – it’s interesting to see how she’s gone from not knowing anything about baseball to being the Twins biggest fan.

The game in mid-September was all sold out, but she was able to find us a few extra tickets the Twins had for the game.  My mom and brother Dave were planning to attend the game anyway, so we thought it would be fun to go and connect with them.

In addition to helping us get tickets, our friend took us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the ballpark.  She showed us her office which is located in the right field corner.  She sat in a cubicle there, but many of the offices were either over-looking the baseball field or the street outside.  There were the Harmon Killebrew and Kirby Puckett conference rooms which facing the field.  I don’t think I’d miss a meeting in either of those two rooms.  Outside those room there is a deck that overlooks the field – right under the Budweiser Roof Deck.  This deck is reserved for Twins employees, so we sat there to watch the game for an inning or so.

After touring the employee area, we went for a walk by all of the suites there.  Each suite is named after a lake in Minnesota – so I got a picture of the Otter Tail Lake suite.  The suites were awesome, from what we got to see.

One other cool favor our friend pulled, was to get our name on the scoreboard for the game.  So the picture is of our name up in lights while Jason Repko was at the plate.
