A Year of Change

Becky’s back with another post:

This past school year has been a pretty big one for us.  Katie finishes kindergarten next Friday and Amelia has already finished junior pre-school.  Both of them have grown substantially in the past year.  Katie in particular went from a 5 year old straight to a teenager.  She acts older in every way!  The same is true of Amelia but to a lesser degree.  I notice changes in how she expresses herself, she seems to be more emotionally mature.  Both of the girls have loved being in school.  When we are heading out to daycare in the morning Amelia keeps asking if she can go to school since Katie is still going.  I love that they both want to be in school and are excited about first grade and senior preschool.  Once the girls finish school next week we are going to try something new this summer.  My good friend Gina is going to watch the girls on Tues, Wed and Thurs.  Gina has a little girl and boy that are the same ages as Katie and Amelia so together they will all get to go to camps, t-ball, swimming lessons, etc.  Basically wherever Gina would normally take her kids, like Blue Eagle for the afternoon, our girls will get to go.  It should be a lot more fun for them.  Also since they won’t be at daycare everyday it should make the days at daycare more enjoyable.  Throw in the fact that Eric and I hope to take quite a few Mondays and Fridays off this summer and the girls should have a lot of different things to do.
