Switcheroo

I thought I was doing my Mother’s Day Weekend duty this weekend by folding clothes and making and cleaning up after dinner so Becky could have a nice, relaxing weekend.  Then we somehow decided to spend 8 hours of hard manual labor on Sunday switching all the bedrooms around.  In doing, we managed to remove a truckload of clothes and toys from the rooms.  I can’t believe we were able to fit all of that stuff in their rooms before.

It started when Katie woke up and said she wanted to change rooms.  We talked about it a few days ago, but Amelia didn’t want to leave her sister.  When Katie agreed to go to the “Timeout Room” so Amelia could have the “Toy Room”, she was all of a sudden excited.  Their existing room is the nicest bedroom upstairs, but they both decided to move on out. 

It seems like they have a ton of room in their new rooms, because we cleaned most all of the toys out of the toy room and left Amelia with just her kitchen stuff and her dolls.  We were able to get the big items moved in the morning and then Becky mostly took care of switching around all of the closet components.

The girls are happy and we made a big deposit at the Boys Ranch, so it turned out well.  It was a lot of work though – maybe next year I’ll have to take Becky somewhere so she can’t be tempted to work on Mother’s Day.
