Flood/Life Update

It’s finally back to work tomorrow.  Our work has been closed since last Thursday morning, and we haven’t been there since about 9am Wednesday morning, so it will feel weird to go back there tomorrow.  I’m running out of crappy T-shirts and ripped up jeans, and it would probably be a good idea to shave as well.

Last Friday, we went to Nemzek Hall in Moorhead to do some sandbagging work.  We spent 5 hours or so filling sandbags there with around one thousand of our closest friends.  As I was digging into a pile, one of our neighbors showed up on our sand pile, so that was cool to run into them again.  Since then, we haven’t been out sandbagging – there was a limited need for people Saturday through Monday.

On Friday night, our friends the Uggeruds came down to stay over night, just in case they had any water problems or water or electricity restrictions up in Fargo.  It was fun to have refugees, even though they were in good enough shape to head back home Saturday.

Amelia has made a lot of progress over the past few weeks with the potty.  She made it through this weekend with only 1 accident, and she’s been making it through most days with 1 or 2 at most accidents.  She finally asks to go to the potty when she needs to – rather than us having to bribe her into going every time.  She’s also picked up more language, and when Katie was at a friends house on Tuesday night and she was alone with us in the house, she’s turned into quite a chatterbox.
