Merry Christmas
This is Amelia Newell and since I learned how to talk this year, my daddy thought I should write the Christmas letter, so here goes.
Katie (4) and I (2) had our birthday parties in January and February and that was lots of fun! I got lots of presents I don’t even know where they are anymore. My grandma had a big birthday party and we went to play at a big water park with my cousin Parker and my Uncle Dave.
In April, I went to my grandma and grandpa’s house for 6 sleep-overs, and that was awesome. When I got back home, I got a Dora shirt with Jamaica on it and looked at a lot of pictures with my parents in front of a big boat – not sure what happened there. Katie still talks about how she wants to go for another sleepover.
I discovered a new favorite activity in late May when my big sister started T-ball. I loved going to the games and cheering on Katie. Katie got lots of hits, but when she was in the outfield, she was more interested in what I had to drink.
I started going potty some this year on the potty, but you get a lot of attention when you go in your pants, so I still like to do that now and then (pretty much every morning at day care).
I love babies, and we had 3 new babies join our extended family this year – Sawyer (Marc & Kari) in July, Ally (Matt & Jess) in October and Bryson (Brandon & Tina) in November. I like to smile at them and give them their pacifiers when they drop them.
I’m not really sure what my mommy and daddy do at work, but they have shirts and bags that say Microsoft, so whatever that is. One time Katie and I got to come to daddy’s office and drink some chocolate milk and color on this huge white wall – that was awesome.
We went to a water park with my friends Eli and Hope this summer in Brainerd and that was fun. We also got to have a few more sleep-overs at grandma’s house in September when mommy and daddy had their anniversary. They said 10, but I can only count to 7, so I’m not sure how much that is.
Katie gets to go to school some days – she finished junior preschool and now is in senior preschool. She likes to read me stories and we color together a lot. I like to do whatever she does, so I like to sing and dance with her too. Sometimes I get to go along to drop Katie off at Dance Class or Sunday School. Katie had her first ever Dance Recital just recently, and she did great.
In the fall, my mommy and daddy bought some lakeshore land down by grandma’s house, I guess. All I know is there are lots of mosquitoes and trees out there. I’m going to help plant some trees and maybe go swimming next year.
Have a happy time when you open all the presents with the tree, Santa and baby Jesus – I know I will.
