I received a bill recently from one of my favorite companies – Ferrellgas. I love to give them as much money as I can because they’re such a great company. They’ve even given me the opportunity to give them more money than the current going rates a couple times now, by charging me about $200 extra on a couple bills. I love to support the things they do at Ferrellgas – such as firing the local employees, taking away the local office, being so flexible as to have their national customer service hours when customers most want it – 8-5 M-F and sending threatening letters if your bill is not paid "upon receipt". They’ve even sued a local company who took on some of their fired employees and the suit does not allow customers to switch propane carriers until the end of September, so I get to enjoy their services for another month. They even have the decency to make sure to get a $25 bill out each year for a tank rental – just to make sure they can feed their families at night.
My love for Ferrellgas made me think of a few of my other favorite things:
- Robert Gibb & Sons – if you don’t want your super expensive furnace to work very often – those guys are the guys for you
- Tax increases & paying taxes – seriously, we should have a bridge named after us with the amount of money we pay each year in taxes
- The Yankees and the White Sox – two underappreciated teams with quality individuals who never get the credit they deserve
- Mosquitos – they are just misunderstood
- My luck in fantasy baseball – it’s always an interesting challenge when my best players start the year in a major funk
- Parents who have completely or routinely abadon their kids – it builds character for the children
Most people who know me know that there isn’t much that riles me up. I’m a pretty even keeled person, but if you want to see me animated – just mention your love for the items above.
