Parrot

Amelia has really bulked up on her vocabulary lately, and it’s so much fun to hear her learn new words.  Of course, her favorite words are still some variety of "Daddy do it" or "Mia do it".  She has learned all the common words she needs and is constantly dropping words I didn’t know that she knew.  She used "triangle" tonight. 

 

She has also definitely turned into Katie’s little parrot.  Everything Katie says Mia has to repeat with her own curious accent.  A funny occasion occurred tonight at dinner:

 

Becky: (to Katie) I just wasn’t that hungry tonight Chubby, I mean Katie.  (Becky calls me Chubby due to my large amount of fatness – probably the fatness in my head)

Me: (to Katie) Mama just called you Chubby.  Say ‘I’m not chubby, I’m big boned’.  (a South Park reference)

Katie: I’m not big boned

Mia: Mia big boned

 

It was just another case of Amelia learning some new words.  I’ve been trying to teach her colors as well, and that’s going pretty slow.  At first everything was boo (blue).  Now everything is purpa (purple).  She knows the different colors now but just doesn’t know when to use them.
