Falling Behind

Wow, it’s been 6 weeks since my last blog entry.  I need to get back on the horse.  A lot has happened over the past 6 weeks and many items deserve their own blog entry.  Here are some things I should write about:

  • My trip to Orlando for work
  • Doodlebops Concert/Zach’s Birthday
  • Becky’s Birthday
  • Amelia’s Chattiness
  • My fantasy baseball draft and team

It’s really the last of those items that’s kept me from writing the blog.  I’m addicted to baseball stats right now and I need to get past it.  I have to look at a box score anytime it’s out there.  During this time of year games are spread out during the day and at night so there’s a box score you could look at nearly anytime.  Maybe it’s just my overall ADD that whenever there’s a moment where I have to wait – such as for my computer to load or a commercial during a show – I feel the urge to check a box score or the latest fantasy player news.

The good news is next week should cure me.  In honor of our nearly 10 years of marriage, Becky and I are heading out on a cruise to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.  It will be a great week for us to relax, take it easy and catch up on sleep.  The girls are excited about the chance to spend time with grandma and grandpa, so I think it will be good for all of us.  Becky and I are also excited about the possibility of eating dinner without having to listen to someone scream or complain.

I have a feeling it could turn out like grocery store trips for me now, though.  It used to be that I would be bugged by the girls constant asking for something or complaining that I didn’t get them something when I took them to the grocery store.  Then a few weeks ago I went to the grocery store by myself.  It was actually utterly boring.  I couldn’t handle the silence.  When I got home I told Becky I couldn’t do that again – I needed to bring someone along.

Anyway, that’s enough for now.  I have to go check some box scores.
