We headed back from South Dakota on Sunday late afternoon and dealt with a little bit nasty weather on the way back, but we made it home by about 8pm. It was good to get home in time to get unpacked and get the girls some sleep. Amelia is getting her two back molars in, so she’s had her fingers in her mouth the entire drive home as well as most of the day. She’s needed extra sleep, but she’s been doing okay. Katie seemed to be sick today too – she said she had a headache throughout the day and looked close to throwing up a couple times, but fortunately she never went through with it.
So we opened presents with our family this morning at 8:30. I’m not sure what the deal is with the early morning gift openings, but it seems to be working for the kids. Katie got all Dora stuff from us – pjs, a sleeping bag/bed and a water coloring thingy. Amelia got several puzzles and a Dora doll. They both got a big floor coloring book from Brandi, our day care lady. I got Becky a electric blanket for our bed, since she always feels it cold in our room. Becky got me a comedy CD from the Bob & Tom Show.
We made a trip to my home church today for the Christmas Eve service we always attended as kids. I like the service because we get a chance to sing all of the Christmas classics and it ends with Silent Night as they turn out the lights. Katie and Amelia got to go up front and see the baby Jesus display, and they thought that was cool.
We’re at my parents house tonight having a sleepover and Marc and Dave are coming tomorrow so we can all spend Christmas together.
Merry Christmas to all.
