I’ve had lots of ideas for blog entries, but for whatever reason I just haven’t put finger to keyboard to crank anything out lately. Here are some updates:
- Amelia is expanding her vocabulary – she can say nah, yeah, uh-oh and daa (short for daddy). She throws a few other words in sometimes like da (for Dora). She also tilts her head from side to side anytime there’s a Dora character that has a song associated with it. She can kinda sing "Backpack" – for whatever reason that must be an easier word to pick up since it was one of Katie’s first words
- Katie is really getting good at reading the first letter of a word. She wants to know what else starts with every letter she sees. She has all the letters associated with a particular name: A – Amelia, B – Baby, Becky, C – Cookie, D – Daddy, E – Eric or Elmo, F – Friend, G – Grandma and Grandpa, H – Heather, I – Isa (Dora character), J – Jalynn (best friend from daycare), K – Katie, L – Luke (her friend), M – Mama, N – Noah, O – O, P – Parker, Q – Quiet, R – My fruit snacks, S – Sam or Somer, T – Tina, U – Uggie, V – it kinda peters out after U except Z is for Zach. You can see that one letter is not like the others. R was for Red like the fact that her fruit snacks can sometimes be red. She made the leap pretty far.
- Becky got some new classes yesterday since Amelia broke her old ones, but she can’t see very well through them. Hopefully they can make an adjustment before she starts getting headaches
- I’m planning to take off several days of work in November to hang out with the girls and give them a break from day care as they switch back to Brandi on Nov 19. It should be fun.
- My brother and his family came up last weekend to hang out as a belated birthday present. We had fun and I even got to play some whist.
- Becky’s sister, Heather, is due on Thursday with their third kid. She is scheduled to be induced on Monday, so we’re all looking forward to the new arrival.
- We have decided to work with a realtor to see if we can find a good deal on some lakeshore. There’s one nearby that seems promising, and I’m heading out to look at another lot tomorrow. We’ll see what happens.
