In Memory of Marcia Neisius

My friend and former colleague, Marcia Neisius, died last Wednesday in a car accident on her way home from Minneapolis.  She worked on my team when I first became a manager, and we kept in touch over the last five years as we were on different teams.  I was asked to write something for the company newsletter about her, so here’s what I wrote:

Marcia worked for me on the Support Systems team in 2001 and 2002.  What I cherished most about Marcia was her empathy for customers.  She was a great customer advocate and when we wanted to do something that didn’t fully meet what customers were looking for, she was willing to stand up and argue on behalf of the customers.  She truly enjoyed working with customers every day and she had a great way of making the customer feeling like their suggestion or complaint was heard and understood.

Also, she loved to talk about her daughter, Falon.  Even though I never met her, I felt like I knew all about her from Marcia’s stories.  Marcia was the kind of person who befriended everyone and made everyone on the team feel welcome.  She’ll truly be missed.

Here’s the information from her obituary.  I like to have it here so it remains out there even after it comes down from the Wright Funeral Home website:
