Taydon Thomas

Katie and Amelia have a new cousin as of about 4:20 this afternoon – Taydon Thomas LaRosh.  He is 8 lbs 13 oz and doing well.  He’s Brandon and Tina’s first child.  Tina was apparently in labor for 2 days, so I’m hopeful she’s getting a chance to get some sleep tonight.

We’re heading out to Onida early Saturday morning so we can see Taydon.  I’m hoping to expand on the article and add some pictures after we get back.

Unfortunately, we forgot our camera, so no pictures.  We’ll have to get some at Christmas time.

Taydon was born at 3:54pm on December 8th – Tina was hoping he would be born on December 7th for two reasons – she’d get done with labor a lot sooner and it would’ve been easier to remember.  Tina went to the hospital early Wednesday for a checkup and then came back around supper time as labor was starting.  She was given something to help push the labor along at 10pm and was supposed to receive it again at 2am Thursday morning, but since she’d been contracting well at 2am, they skipped it.  Her contractions continued throughout the night, but she didn’t get dialated very far.  She kept contracting throughout the day until the doctor realized they weren’t getting anywhere and she told Tina to receive the medicine again at 6pm 10pm and 2am to help the process along.  That happened this time, and by Friday morning she was dialating more.  She said she was given some drug instead of an epidural which made her feel drunk but didn’t do too much to relieve the pain.  She started pushing sometime around 2pm and the baby arrived at 3:54.  Tina and the baby are doing well.  Brandon is as happy as can be too.

Everyone made it back to see the baby so that was great.  We’ll see them all again in 2 weeks.
