Halloween Recap

The girls were all excited for Halloween last night.  Our work was allowing for trick or treating during the aisles, so I went and picked up Katie and brought her to work to get some candy.  She was dressed in her pretty pink Princess costume without the crown (because it hurts me daddy).  Since it was cold, she complemented her outfit with blaze pink pants and brown Dora shoes – whatever works.  One of my colleagues offered her candy, but she was so shy she wouldn’t take it.  She warmed up as the time went by and ended up making a pretty good haul.  There were lots of kids around and it was fun to see all the costumes.

Once we got home Becky and Katie headed out to do a little trick or treating.  They weren’t out long due to the cold.  The Bunny Rabbit (Amelia) and I stayed home.  The Bunny Rabbit costume made a great jacket for Amelia during the day.  She hasn’t been feeling well, so she needs all the warmth she can get.  Once Katie got back she was really excited about handing out the candy.  She was a pretty generous giver too, but that turned out to be okay since we didn’t have too many takers.  The funniest part of the evening is when she was standing by the door ready to hand out candy as two boys were approaching.  They were dressed in a skeleton costume and a bear costume, and as soon as they were visible through the door, Katie sprinted back towards me on the other side of the room.  I guess it’s fun to hand out candy to little kids, but not so much fun with scary monsters like that.
